I'm interested in reality manipulation magic. There is a school of magic that has been woefully understudied. You can speed yourself up or slow down, you can reverse gravity for the moment, but these are trifles, the type of tinkering done without the application of real theory. For a long time I've theorized that transmutation magic in connection with dunamancy could be used to rewrite the laws of the universe, and I've recently seen evidence that suggests this is so.
But this is all a little tangential to what I'm doing. What I've come to understand since being here is that the theory of what those laws are that I learned in school are specific to my world, and different understands exist here. I've thought that perhaps if I can develop a stronger grasp on the theories discussed in classes here I will find something that will better inspire my work.

Basically, you're looking to cross-reference what you already know with what other people have learned across all the different worlds. After all, if you're looking to rewrite the laws of the universe— or at least, theoretically, it makes little sense to limit yourself to the laws of your world. It's just one drop in the ocean of the universe. [Hmmm... Anyway.] Have you gained any inspiration since we got here, then?

It's exactly as you say. The makeup of my world is quite different to this one, at least from my bare studies. The interactions of different planes of existence doesn't seem to play as much of a role in theories of the formation and makeup of this universe. But I also wonder if there were discoveries made in this universe that are true of mine, but are as of yet undiscovered?
So a little inspiration, yes, though I will not be able to test any of my work for some time.
